AI Prompt Engineer (Remote) - Contract | Open

ROLE

We are searching for a contract AI Prompt Engineer to translate prioritized business use cases into practical, high-impact AI solutions. This role partners closely with the AI project team, technology, and business teams to design, test, and refine prompts and agent-based workflows that deliver measurable efficiency and value.

Beyond solution delivery, this role plays a critical enablement function, raising prompt engineering maturity across the organization through training, coaching, and hands-on support. Success is measured by user adoption, solution quality, workflow efficiency gains, and demonstrated time or cost savings.

 

Prompt Engineering and Solution Design

  • Design, test, and refine prompts to address prioritized AI use cases across company.
  • Translate business workflows and requirements into effective prompt strategies.
  • Iterate rapidly based on user feedback, performance, and adoption signals.

 

AI Agents and Advanced Workflows

  • Design and build specialized AI agents when single-prompt solutions are insufficient.
  • Support agentic workflows that integrate data, tools, and systems where appropriate.
  • Contribute to patterns and best practices for scalable, maintainable AI solutions.

 

User Enablement and Training

  • Educate users and teams on prompt engineering best practices.
  • Lead training sessions, lunch-and-learns, office hours, and hands-on workshops.
  • Provide patient, clear guidance to users with varying levels of AI familiarity.

 

Collaboration and Feedback Loops

  • Partner with the AI project team, technology, and business teams to understand use cases and success criteria.
  • Listen closely to user needs and pain points to improve solution relevance and usability.
  • Document prompt patterns, lessons learned, and reusable approaches.

 

Measurement and Continuous Improvement

  • Support measurement of adoption, user satisfaction, and workflow impact.
  • Continuously improve prompts and agents based on usage data and outcomes.
  • Contribute to a repeatable approach for scaling successful solutions across markets.

 

KEY CLIENT NOTES

  • Remote – Atlanta area candidates are preferred, but we will consider East Coast
  • Hourly $65 – $75
  • Contract 6+ Months
  • MUST HAVE experience applying AI to real-world business workflows and  translating stakeholder needs into practical solutions
  • MUST HAVE Excellent communication skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hands-on experience with prompt engineering in production or enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of how to apply AI to real-world workflows and business problems.
  • Experience collaborating with non-technical users and translating needs into AI solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, including training and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and adapt as priorities evolve.
  • Patience and empathy when supporting users through change.

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • Experience building AI agents and agent-based workflows.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Copilot, and Copilot Studio.
  • Experience with AWS, including Amazon Bedrock and agent frameworks.
  • Exposure to other AI platforms such as ChatGPT or Claude.
  • Process improvement or operational efficiency experience.
  • Experience supporting data or system access through AI solutions.
