Sr. Ruby Developer (Remote) - Contract | Open
ROLE
Petram Search Group is searching for a Senior Ruby on Rails developer to join our team. Your main responsibilities will be building, enhancing and refactoring an already innovative lending platform using Agile/Scrum methodologies. This platform is built on Ruby/Ruby on Rails. You will be part of the team developing all parts of the application including new features, APIs, database queries, deployment engineering and code refactoring. Our tech stack is Ruby, Ruby on Rails, TeamCity, Atlassian Suite (Jira, Jira Helpdesk, Bitbucket and Confluence) MySQL, React, and a few others. We’re looking for someone who is a great communicator, plays nice with others, and has a good balance of talent, humor and initiative.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Design robust, scalable and secure features
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle
- Share best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration, SCRUM, refactoring, and code standards)
- Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into the design
CLIENT’S KEY NOTES
- Pay rate $70-$80 per hour
- Atlanta area candidates preferred
- MUST be self-driven and able to work with little direction
- MUST be a hands-on engineer with advanced skills and able to design, set up, and lead project development
- MUST have back-end focused experience with APIs, cloud/AWS, CI/CD etc
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven work experience as a Ruby on Rails developer
- Proven work experience in software development
- Experience developing highly interactive applications
- A firm grasp of object-oriented analysis and design
- Passion for writing great, simple, clean, efficient code
- Good knowledge of relational databases
- Working knowledge of MySQL
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or in related field
- Financial industry experience a plus!
